4.5 week old chick not growing **now with pics** ((Updated))

In humans we call that kind of thing "failure to thrive". Unless you can see some obvious signs of something wrong, there is probably little you can do about it. You might consider adding vitamins to her regimen, otherwise you are doing all that you can. Enjoy her while she's here because she may be physically fragile and not long for this world. Sorry.

I got 3 Salmon Faverolles and out of the 3, one failed to grow at the same rate. I had to feed it by hand for the first 5 days or so because it I didn't, it didn't eat or drink. It didn't feather out at the same rate either and was a third of the size of the others. Now, at 6 weeks old I can hardly tell the difference in them. All of a sudden, she started to catch up. I fretted about her constantly. I would just keep an eye on yours and as long as it eats and drinks, I would just call it "special".
Good luck with yours.
PS- We called ours Tinkerbell because she was so small for so long.

I did start her on vitamins about a week or a week and a half ago now. I'm happy to report that she's grown more in the last week than I've seen her grow in the last 3 weeks. She's still small, but I'm seeing growth -hopefully that is a good sign!

I am so happy to read that.. perhaps she will catch up and rule the roost! Wouldn't that be great? I wonder, is there any type of food, like kelp or anything like that that anyone knows that might help her grow, or treats that would be extra beneficial?

Can you tell I'm a fan of Songbird??

I hope that's the case. She's a sweety. I was also wondering about special foods that could help her grow. I'm doing the vitamins and cooked yolk. Other suggestions?

She's doing really well. She's gotten a little bigger - she's still pretty tiny, but she's feisty now and not sleeping all the time like she was before.

She can hold her own when she finds a worm.

I have guarded hope that she will be a lasting member of the flock...

Yes electrolytes and vitamins in her water (I use rooster booster). Poly Vi Sol (no iron) like you have been using. And feed her hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and day by day she should get stronger and bigger. She just needs a little extra loving!!!
Your such a good mommy hen!
Good Luck!

I am so happy to hear your "little one" is doing well.
Maby she hit her teen-age years a little late! LOL
