Fairly new to chickens, had some back in 1983, but I was a dumb teenager and didn't really get 'into' chickens then. Fast forward to March 2018... we went at picked up 4 little chicks, 2 are Isa Browns and 2 are Tetras from Tractor Supply Co. (TSC). We still have all 4 of them, 3 are varying tones of red/brown, and one is mostly white with red/brown feathers random.
Tweety, Daisy, Betty and Waffle (she's the white-ish one). Waffle has laid a whopping 5 eggs - total. The others lay 1 a day, or nearly every day. Waffle doesn't even really look like a chicken that much. I'll have to find a picture of her and slap it up here.

I'm a avid woodworker, or creator of sawdust and shavings as I like to say. I built chicken coop #1 and recently built the 'Chicken Hilton' for our 4 lovely girls.

Previously had a dog and a cat, both died of old age - dog=16, cat=18. So, these ladies are now the 'pets', and, wonderful providers of beautiful brown orbs of tastiness!

That's about it... (for now)

:welcome It’s great to see you! I love your intro. You have a great sense of humor.
I hope you get a chance to show us your girls and new coop! Feel free to also share photos of your late dog and cat. We certainly don’t mind hearing about them.

Hi! :frow Welcome to BYC! Chickens make wonderful pets. I'd love to see a picture of all of them, but especially Waffle. She is obviously a princess. :D And now she has a sugar-daddy (mommy?) to take good care of her. :D I'm sure she appreciates it!

Howdy, I thought tetras is a type of aquarium fish.!? Your white chicken could be a dud or she is a different breed and is maturing late. I have one Orpington 4yrs old never really got into that egg laying thing. She prefers the executive position of just being boss.
Welcome
