4 day old chick trouble with pooping

I didn't have much luck with the ceramic heater either, just didn't give a wide enough range of heat over a big enough area.

Tho I still use a 60W red incandescent light(controlling heat output with a dimmer extension cord),
during the first couple days to observe the activity and health of the chicks(only during the day),

I dropped mine from a 120w bulb to 100w today. I work from home so I figure I can check on them enough to be sure it's okay in the next day.
 
The wire mesh would need to be cut with wire cutters to fit.

The trim comes in long pieces that will need to be cut to fit the brooder. You can give Lowe's or Home Depot the measurements and they'll cut it for you. Staple it on the bottom thick part.

Yes, it does sound like it could be vent gleet. When you treat her, if you can, document what course of treatment you take, and how she does. (Along with photos if possible). This will help others in the future who may encounter this problem. To be honest, with my limited experience, vent gleet never occurred to me because of her age, so this is a learning experience for me ( and maybe someone else as well).
I hope she gets better soon.

I think it started because she had pasty butt and I think it messed up the ph in her tummy. I wouldn't have thought about vent gleek if I hadn't looked up sour crop. In my search I was directed to the link above and it really screamed to me.

I started today with an antifungal creme for athletes foot. Definitely better at the before bed time bath with just one treatment to her vent.

Wow, that is a big difference from before! Looks like that's going to heal in no time. Nice going!
 
It was certainly not as bad as it's been other mornings. I did notice that she had some seepage and her belly was wet. Got her cleaned up she seems to be doing all right now
