I just got 5 Rhode Island Reds, and 2 Barnevolders that are 4 days old. The fAir is the end of august. I have the chickens in a Tupperware container, the heat lamp is over the side and I have it positioned so it shines in the corner. The chicks are all either huddles under the lamp or all huddles on the other end. He continer is kind of small, Do I need a bigger container or…? Thanks

Hey guys, I try and out my hand in the brooder box, but all the chicks flap rapidly and don't seem to like me holding them. There 5 days old, how do I bond?

Guys, my friend texted, she's selling me 4 hens, 6 Americana baby chicks, coop, accessories for coop, and everything for $75!
:)

Up date on my birds!

I've been so busy lately.. I've only got about an hour and 15 minutes of time for lately. And I use that time for showering, eating, and stuff in the house.
I kind of feel bad for the cochins right now, there is no reason for the 2 blacks and 2 blues to be locked up excpet for them to not get sun bleached for the blues and for all of them to not get best up by a rooster or mean hen. Good thing the eggs are 1/3 the way though tomorrow, and as soon as the black cockerel is sexually mature I am having him over all the hens and hatching those eggs. Hopefully he becomes mature by time May so the chicks are 1 year by time fairs next year.

I started halter breaking the jersey yearling, turns 1 on May 6 so close enough, I haven't had time since last weekend to work with her. This weekend I am trying to make time to work with her. I'm still hoping to show her at County but we'll see.
I absolutley love the Bielefelders! They are so docile! But like i posted earlier I need to hatch some out because that rooster is getting to be 4-5 years this year. I am white impressed with the Bresse so far they are the only ones laying eggs. The Swedish Flowers are buggers the rooster caused such a commotion yesterday! And the hen is a complete idiot! She ran into a wall! So I did check for blindness but she can see out of both eyes! Icelandics are still very skittish but that's in their breed so you can't blame them much.
Chicks are 5 weeks as of yesterday! Only 11 more til the leghorns are laying! This weekend they going to be seperated into 2 brooders.

I'm Billy and I raise Silver Laced Wyndote and Americana I have 8 as of now all hens and was in 4H with chicken farmer 4
