Got my thanksgiving bourbon red turkey poults today in the mail and one wont open his eyes. He peeps normally and will drink when shown the water, hes also had about two mouthfuls of scrambled eggs.
Is there any chance for him to manage blind?
or could he develop the ability to open his eyes?
I've got him seperated in a box with me under a ceramic heat lamp and hes napping like the others in the garage.

Where did they come from? It may be weak and needs some electrolytes or a bit of sugar and water.

Kuntrygirl may be right it may just be weak from its shipping ordeal.
I would hope that a hatchery would not send out a Poult that was sick or had a birth defect I know this sounds strange but have you checked to see if it had eyes or the eye lids are not glued shut.
Just an Idea to think about hope things work out for the good.
