I realized after I got home from the store today that I had picked up 4 inch 90 degree elbows instead of the 3 inch that I now see recommended all over the DIY waste-free feeder builds. Anyone see any problem with this, other than the need to wait until they are slightly older than if using 3 inch so they don't fall in and get stuck/die?

For reference, making something like this (Credit to the MyPetChicken Blog).

4 inch should be fine for older pullets/chickens. People with roosters have used the 4 inch, because there combs would rub against the 3 inch and cut them. I wouldn't use it for chicks, they won't be able to reach in to get feed. If you want to make one for new chicks, use 2 inch elbows. I'm thinking about making one with 2 inch elbows, if I get time, before I get chicks this year. At 4 weeks, my last chicks were using the 3 inch elbows without any problems. I just want a cleaner feeder option before they are 4 weeks.
