4 month old Ameraucana - pullet or roo?

Hi all,
I really thought this sweetie was a gal.... now the comb and face is getting so red that it’s starting to worry me. No wattles, tho I’m not sure if a roo in this breed would have them by now? The neck feathers are so shiny they look pointy but I’m not sure if it’s an optical illusion with the sheen. I don’t see any pointy saddle feathers and the tail looks more like a pullet.... what do you guys think?? Thanks in advance!

Oh and as a side note, beards suppress the wattles so the cockerels don't really get em that much either

Thank you! I’m so relieved... we can’t keep roos here and she’s such a sweetie. So they turn more red when they’re getting ready to lay? Is that what you mean?

Yes....the facial skin, comb and wattles (in nonbearded breeds) redden and plump due to hormones associated with production. This is why nonlaying birds (age, broody, sick) will have combs that are not as bright, waxy, plump looking
