At 10pm I butchered 4 what I assume to be cornish Xs. The Chicken swap'er told me they were meat birds. I was at 7 weeks with them and decided to do them in before my vacation. They are slightly smaller than the ones I got from the feed bin, but a solid bird and much more active and not as depressing.

I am guessing they will weigh in about 4lbs each. From clucking in the pen to the freezer with clean up 1hr 15 mins. Better than my last shot at almost 4hrs. If only I had more space...

I will be doing this again and again,

Very cool!!

Since I live in the city I butcher late at night, unfortunately the neighbors have walked out and noticed when I have been processing.

Last night the teenagers from next door noticed the smell of cooking chicken and thought I was BBQing, but they were more interested in smoking something then wondering what was going on in my backyard. The first time I butchered someone cut the fuel line on my motorcycle that was sitting my driveway when they walked past and noticed what we were doing.

Very frustrating.

I should note that I burn the entrails/skin/feathers to save the neighbors from animals pulling them out of the trash.

Perhaps I have a wicked streak.

If someone was walking by and cut the motorcycle, I would assume they walk by on a regular basis. I'd put a big sign out there that said:

The person that vandalized my motorcycle. I've put a voodoo curse on you. You will be getting sick very soon.

Let them worry about it for a bit.

The property behind me is used to run a landscape business out of. I use a stump next to a tree that has my cone hung on it when I'm doing chickens back there so no one from the street can see. But one day while I was doing some quail, the "guys" walked by and I smiled and waved then lopped the head off the quail in my hand then starting pulling its feathers out. They kept going! Quickly!

Being nice is so much more effective than being mean or ignoring them lol
