I have 4 roosters and my Big RED Rooster ( RIR ) has always been the dominating rooster in this flock .

Today I found one of the other roosters dead inside the coop . NO BLOOD , NO feathers , nothing . Nothing has entered the coop . Could BIG RED have attacked this rooster and killed it ?

This particular rooster has always been kinda aggressive towards the hens , and BIG RED would always run him off . hmmmmm makes me wonder if RED had enough of him . LOL

OK thanks , I kinda figured that might of happened . Mike ( hubby ) said if thats the case , MAYBE we need to get rid of BIG RED , dont wanting him killing the flock . PROTECTING yes , KILLING NO .

You raise silkles ? Do you have pictures of your silkies ? ?

Mikes just trying to get a chicken and sausage gumbo out of you! LOL

Separeate big red from all the others for a couple days. When you put him back in his rank in the pecking order will have dropped. Then if it doesn't help, you can try something else.

And yes I have pictures of my Silkies on my website.

How many hens do you have?
I have 23 hens and keep two roosters with them and they get along fine. If you have too many roosters, it is not uncommon for them to fight and end up dead.
