I spoke to my local feed store and they said one of the girls might have an egg stuck or broken inside and suggested to feel around down there. I used some mineral oil and gloved finger and did some investigating. Felt nothing like an egg broken or otherwise. I noticed on one of them that it looked like some of her insides were starting to come out! Was this from my investigation of poking around down there or is this the source of the bloody poop? It seemed to pull itself back inside. I was reading some forums trying to find an answer for the bloody poop since there was a little more this morning. I stumbled across something called a prolaps?? It was then that I went outside and checked again to see if her insides were showing again and they were, about the size of a small marble. Is this a prolaps? If so will this be the cause of the blood? If so what to do? How serious is this? Will this kill her?
Out of the 4 silkies (7 mos old) she is the only layer. Although she has gone from 1 egg a day to 1 every week or so. One of the other 3 gets broody but no eggs while the other 2 haven'd laid at all. I know this may be off topic but is some how this all related? I thought for sure that all of them would be laying by now.
I will try to post a pic after I get home.
Sorry for so long, thanks for any help!
