4 week old chick cant lift head

Yes I know all this but the op could only get tylan, tell me how can change that fact of corse baytril whould be a better choice this is what the op could find if you're reading right then you whould see that that's all they could get! If I could I whould give them my baytril but I caint and I thought that they could try tylan if that's all they could get at least they tried and I was told buy my vet that this whould not hurt the chicks in a ideal world they could get vet care
If they can get Corid and Tylan, they should be able to get oxytetracycline or tetracycline. I think TSC carries all of these.

Yes you're right they could try that and if they didint see improvment in 48 hours then they could try the only thing they have which is tylan! And then what? I just thought that maybe the chicks whould be too far gone to take anymore of this they are suffering! And I'm trying to help the chicks because that's what I care about the animals that suffer nedlesly!

Note that I'm not saying to get anything other than Corid. I also think that the chicks should be given an oral drench. With the liquid it's easy, .02ml per 100 grams. Powder will take some thinking, but the dose you want is 2mg per 100 grams of body weight and there are 270mg in 1/2 a teaspoon of the powder.

There are places online where poultry meds can be ordered. Here's a link where Baytril can be ordered:

They probably should be tube fed fluids, then baby bird food. A four week old chick is easy to tube, and I'd be happy to help over the phone.

Edited to add:
I could have sworn that I read somewhere here that the chicks are 4 weeks old, but now I can't find it. How old are they?

Quote: That's a great place... Human, dog and cat drugs can be used, too, one just needs to look for Clavamox, Cipro, Augmentin and amoxicillin. Many people don't finish their prescriptions, so often they have a few extra pills.

Not sure where you're going with this, you're giving me a link for where to get meds used in birds? Why whould I need this? I know what meds to use that's all the op wanted to try for there chicks that's there choice if it were my chicks they whould have been taken to a vet soon after showing symptoms like the op described to me. I'm only trying to help just like all of you,but people don't seem to want to spend much money and that's where I can then only do so much to help them

I hate to say this, but if people can't afford $20 here and there for medications and supplies they probably shouldn't have pets.
