Today my Rhode Island Red chicks are 4 weeks old! They are growing super fast and making more of a mess these days lol They have learned to scratch and I am having to sweep around their pen a couple times a day from all the wood chips. They are all perching and they love Kale!

So I looked into my old pictures of past chicks that I have and although you guys may be right...my older hens looked like this when they were younger also. My opinion is that they just need a few more weeks to grow before you can really identify what they are.
Morning,

I just wondered how this chick turned out?

The wait to find out if your chick is a boy or a girl is painful!

I have some 4 week olds that have me guessing.

Thanks!

Sometimes, they surprise you. I have three Buckeyes, all from the same hatchery via the local feed store and all acquired at the same time as days-old chicks. To this day, Althea has a Much Larger, Darker comb than her two sisters; I would have sworn she was a roo, but her egg-laying pretty much confirms that she's a hen.

Hope you get what you want from your group!
