430 chickens

so the guy I work for...
its kind of a farm, but not really.
and my boss just ordered 430 chickens so he can have eggs.
and he has no idea how many chickens that is.
I asked him if he knew how many chickens that was...and he just said "ya", "its 430 chickens"
haha.
well this means I'm going to have to take care of alot of chickens here soon

As long as they are young it is not so bad. I max out at 700; gets to be too much. How many different kinds?

he got one kind. red stars.
he wants egg production to the max.
he wants them actually free range and will have alot of room outside to roam around. right now he has no set up. just boards surrounding a concrete floor.
and you can already smell them...
lol. well just makes more work for me.

I'd love to travel out there and see this set up... that would be a great "field trip" for my boys...

haha. yea there will be many eggs but that will be months to come.
right now he fenced off an area in his barn about 10ft by 8ft just so they are protected as babies. We have lids to those big tubbaware containers for feeding and watering them. That way the babies dont drown.
eventually we are going to build a wall up to the ceiling in the barn and punch a hole in the back side where they will have a lot of space to run around outside.
He figures we'll do that stuff in a bit when they are older. So just letting the babies grow
