Hello everyone,
1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.)
D'Uccle, 4mo, weighs less than half a pound. She is purely skin and bones; no muscle mass.
2) What is the behavior, exactly.
Extremely lethargic; unresponsive. Pictures included. She is not moving, does not move when moved in any way, shape or form and is barely breathing.
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms?
Less that 5 hours
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms?
No
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.
No
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.
There was a large thunderstom that rolled in very shortly before she started showing symptoms.
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.
Unmedicated chick starter, fresh drinking water
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.
I haven't seen a stool from her yet. She is kept with other birds. I cannot tell which stools are hers; however, the stools in her coop are all normal.
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?
1/2 a dropper of NutriDrench. No response.
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?
I am treating her myself. A vet is out of question as we just brought our dog to the vet today. We can't afford more vet bills.
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.

12) Describe the housing/bedding in use
Open floor chicken tractor.
Additional:
Empty crop despite access to food.
The abdomen is not hard, there is nothing there but skin and bones.
She has never been dewormed.
She does not have mites or lice.

Has this little pullet weighed more than she does now? Has she been smaller than your other D'Uccle when she was a chick?

Before you noticed her acting lethargic, was she active and eating? Did this come on very suddenly? Were your chickens free ranging or are they always in the tractor?

This happened to one of my Cochins. Seemingly out of nowhere she was very weak and shockingly skin and bones compared to the other. It turned out to be as simple as being bullied away from the only feeder we had, so I added several feeding locations and problem solved. I believe I had to tube feed her for a day or two.

Sorry I can’t help more Cy, hoping this is an easy fix. :hugs

She has weighed more before. I never had my other D'Uccle as a chick. I bought her as an adult.
My cockerel of the same age weighs a fair bit more than she does right now.
ETA:
Yesterday and days prior she was alert and active, eating food and drinking.
Came on suddenly. They are always in the tractor.

I'm wondering if that's what happened.
They only have one feeder. The older hen is a bully.
