4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

I have a batch of bantam cochins in my bator right now from Lacrystol so I'm looking to hatch out some LF for NYD.

I believe luckypickens has some nice black LF cochins, she doesn't have a listing up right now, but you could send her an email. I'm surprised that there aren't any listings for them currently on ebay. I would send you some, but none of my LF cochin hens are laying.

Hi everyone i signed up on my phone gave my member name and hit submit. Is that all you gotta do?Sorry for such a dumb question.Just want to be a part of this. :) I was going to pick up some eggs from the garry farm even called and talked to them but would hate to get them and they not make it.Im new at this and my hatch rate was terrible. So ill just set my barn yard mix eggs .wait and do the others when i have more experince.

oh I didn't mean LF cochin specifically, I need some LF dual purpose birds. Preferably BA or Delawares, but at this point I will take whatever I can get for cheap. The bantam cochins were a bit of an impulse buy, I really should have bought some layers instead.

**A special thank you to everyone who is running a contest and/or offered a prize**
a few questions:
how many photos can be entered?
do they all have to be of the same bird?
and does the chicken have to be on the ground? or can he be in the air?
thanks :)

Well - good luck to all. With temperatures dropping anywhere from -5 to -35 celcius in winter here in northern BC Canada, I'd never submit a baby chick to that and I already have 9 dogs, 4 cats and a couple birds in the house ... anymore and we'll have to call it the barn. Aside from that, I don't have an incubator and wouldn't have the foggiest clue where to find eggs here at this time of year.

i am already hatching now and will be through winter for that same reason as the first reason, they will be ready for spring summer as starters, sooooooo count me in for the hatch-a-long!

My kids will be excited for us to join y'all! I just told them yesterday we will try hatch some Christmas chicks. We have some fertile eggs finally and we don't want to wait til spring! So we will have Christmas bater and one New Years Day bater! Fun!!!!
