4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

Hi everyone
Thank's for yesterday's EXCITING daily contest, that was alot of fun.
Today's daily contest will be from 7-10PM EST it will be happening on Bhep's cutest baby picture thread. We are going to play "catch crazypetlady" you will have to find me somewhere on BYC just chilling". When you look for me in a thread you must post where you just looked and didn't find me on BHep's contest thread. When you actually find me you MUST post something on the thread you find me in, then post on Bhep's thread where you found me. Whoever finds me the most times wins! I will announce the prizes at the start of the contest.

OoOoooo sounds like a challenge! Now I have to remember to actually be here then

whites all mask color, so having some with a spot or speck of color is not uncommon at all. Fertility in sebbies goes down when there are quads for breeding. Pairs produce higher fertility. We use the smallest kiddie pools and cement mixing pans from HD for pools.

print and keep Petes hatching guide: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/497391/geese-sticky-topics-index it will remove most questions on how to properly incubate goose eggs in the future.

THANK YOU !!!!

I use baby pools and cement mixing pans also.

So I guess I am good there. Would you recommend another gander? Will they compete? Would I need to separate at breeding time or would they pair off ? Guess I should research. I went to buy chickens, seen her geese, fell in love and came home with eggs.

They have to be the funniest babies to raise, following me around, getting into everything, stealing shoes right off your feet... OOO I have so many Sebbie stories.

I candled a select few eggs this morning and I still can't see veining, but most of the eggs are dark... One of my mystery eggs was stuck to the turner and when I pulled it out, there was a small crack in the shell that I must have missed... It was leaking, so I didn't figure I could save it...

I decided to crack it open and there was what I hope was the beginning of veining. I'll have to post a pic when I get home, cuz I can't do it from my iPad.

is it okay to candle once a day every day?
im trying to hold back, and just do it every few days, but if it doesnt hurt them then hey, why not?

2 ganders would need to be split up during breeding season, but can free range as one large flock the rest of the year. I would hunt down a curly gander and put him with the smooth girl, the smooth gander can be with the two curly, or you can leave him with 1 curly and new gander with a curly and a smooth. I agree they are impossible to be mad at, silly little things.
