4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

Didn't get to participate last year, though did the two before and it was great fun!

Looking forward to this year. I won't have a ton of eggs as my girls are currently molting, but hoping for a small batch to play along.

Iowa Blues for me.

Its a bad year for eggs. But I'm glad you are joining. This is my first NYDH also.

All my d'Uccle girls are on strike since I gave them new boyfriends. I might feel the same way if someone gave me a new boyfriend.....Nope it might be a nice change

im not sure if u know this already or if this is right bu i think that you cant pm much because you are new, i think the more you post the more privalges you get like you cant post a ckassified on the buy/sell/trade forum till you have i think somewhere in the 30ish area but no exactly sure

I accidentally just signed up, although I would LOVE to be participating, hopefully I can next year and plan on joining in the Easter hatch-a-long in the spring!!

Hmm, after watching everyone get all excited about the Hatch-along ... I wanna play too! Can Canadians join? I saw one Ontarian who was considering it too. Regardless, I have figured out a place to keep them indoors until it's nice enough outdoors up here in n. BC Canada ... so I'm game to give this a go! I already found some eggs and have some of my own to try too. Now to find an incubator before the set date!

Can someone clarify for me ... is the point of the contest to have the first hatchling on NYD or is entry into the NYD Hatch-along to qualify entrants for the other contests listed on the page?

Oh I know all about the limits. In the begining I could only PM twice in 24 hours. Ive posted enough now to have a few PMs and have only used 2 today and 1 was after I tried PMing you. This forum is not user friendly to me. I have tried to sign up for this Hatch A Long for a few days and still dont think it has worked. I should be able to post in the egg section because it said I needed 20 posts to do so. When I tried in the past it told me at the top that I was not allowed to but that message doesnt show up now so dont know what the problem is.

Midwest: How frustrating! Hang in there, the hatch is worth some perseverance.

RavenWood, Absolutely Canadians are welcome! And necessary....you can put things in perspective when we start whining about how cold it is here.

As far as contests go, I'm just shooting from the hip here, but I believe the reason behind signing up is so that there is a way to keep track of how many eggs are set....and then hatched. Whoever guesses closest to these numbers wins that contest. The First Chick Hatched in 2013 is a seperate contest.
