I just put 18 Faverolle eggs in the bator yesterday, has nothing at all to do with the NYD hatch tho.

yeah...the ones I do are with wax resist and dye. but I guess I could do wax resist an magic marker...LOL

Someone on ebay was selling 2 for $25 (that was at least the last bid). I was so tempted to buy them with my Christmas money, but have to save it for my White Marans I am getting in Jan.

White Marans!? Do tell.... Eggs? Chicks? and are ya sharing?

I did a quick candling last night (day 4) and at least 30 out of 42 had good veining. Some were too dark to see yet and only a few looked clear. The clears came out of pens that had just started to lay, but I couldn't wait to test a few eggs.

I just went out the garage and found 7 of my biggest koi dead... Water was is pristine condition, no signs of bacterial incfection, no parasites, no fugal infections, these fish look perfectly healthy other than the fact that they were dead. Only 3 of the koi that were in the garage are still here... These are expensive fish and I'm heartbroken, not to mention that I have no idea what killed them. Sorry that this has nothing to do with chickens or hatching, but this thread is a great place with lots of people who care.

So sorry! How old were they? Do you raise them or just enjoy them?

I also candled last night and found one more egg developing! Good lesson on giving eggs some time and not taking them out just 'cause some developed and nothing is seen in others I now have 3 eggs developing I'm keeping them in there until at least Monday night (day 7) I might get lucky and find another, but I doubt it now.... Still it'd be great if 3 would hatch!!!
