CUTIE!!! And is the egg art contest for *any* egg art? It says magic marker, but I have something else I am working on, but it is definitely egg and definitely art

I was wondering the same thing. I haven't started yet, but I'd perfer using pencils.

I will definately be entering the egg art contest. Your sebastopols are absolutely gorgeous!

The 3 that survived are inside and I'm treating with a mild antiboitc since I don't know whats wrong. I was sure my white one wouldn't make it through the night, but all 3 of them did. They're aren't out of the woods yet, but I'm hopeful.

Morning all................ candled last night and found a surprise Cream Legbar chick hatched out! lol Had forgotten about the poor single egg that was left until I heard cheeping. She will have some newly hatched goslings soon to snuggle with.

Only had 4 eggs to pull out of the duck eggs set.

Spent yesterday scrubbing the brooder house, cleaning all the stalls and hanging heat lamps. We have 3 empty brooder stalls right now, so need to move chicks to the grow out pen and shuffle Jr ducklings around to make room for the new hatches.

oh geez "stalls" sighhhhhhh so jelous

I can't tell if any of my olive eggers are developing. Doesn't look like it though. Two are dead and I think ten of them are developing out of 25

I just put 18 Faverolle eggs in the bator yesterday, has nothing at all to do with the NYD hatch tho.

Good lesson on giving eggs some time and not taking them out just 'cause some developed and nothing is seen in others I now have 3 eggs developing I'm keeping them in there until at least Monday night (day 7) I might get lucky and find another, but I doubt it now.... Still it'd be great if 3 would hatch!!!

I did a quick candling last night (day 4) and at least 30 out of 42 had good veining. Some were too dark to see yet and only a few looked clear. The clears came out of pens that had just started to lay, but I couldn't wait to test a few eggs.

I purchased some eggs from a farmer who has 2 roosters but I only see 3 of them developing... Too bad, I'll leave them in for a couple of days but I'm pretty confident in who is developing and who is not already.

So sorry! How old were they? Do you raise them or just enjoy them?

Yeah, I raise them and enjoy them. The ones that died ranged from 2 - 10 years. I still have the ones in my 125 gallon tank, and a 40 gallon full of 2-3 inch koi fry, but this affected half of the big ones and they were greatly loved. I always hand feed them and hand catch them, and I even started training them to do tricks.

I am thrilled to death with my two young pairs I got eggs from...so happy that all of my eggs are developing. I really didn't know about Raquels first eggs...the ones I am incubating are literally her first eggs, and Ava's second set...very newly laying pullets. Hoping the little peeps make it all the way to hatch
