4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

~ Hatched ~

I hatched a little fluff ball
as cute as can be,
I held her, I loved her,
I even let her sleep with me,

She was such a little blessing,
when she came running to me,
Oh, how swiftly she had grown,
she was just sweet as can be!

Then one morning, unbeknownst to me,
When my little darling came running,
She was now a He!

I miss those snuggle mornings,
but alas it was not to be,
Now I have a BIG boy,
just to CROW with me!

I assume you mean the 7th day 'sniff' test? These calcifications weren't there when I set the eggs. I'm a lil worried.

Personally, I would consider this oozing. I have never had an egg ooze liquid. What I consider oozing (and this could be different from what people consider "oozing") is an egg that has any seeping from the shell. I have had several shipped eggs that develop hard crusty blobs on the outside of the shell. It looks yellowish to me, or clear with a yellow tint (think dried egg white). I wish I had a picture of one I three out a month ago for you to compare. I did find this picture, which is very similar to what I see... Does it look like what happened to your egg?

Than I have no knowledge of that. i am sorry. Hopefully someone else does.

You might want to examine one of the eggs and do an eggtopsy for educational purposes so others can learn from your experience. i would like to learn about something different I have never heard of.
Sally: I'm not sure exactly how many...6? out of 50.

Here is the worst one, the bumps are hard, even though they look wet in the second pic. Candling shows what I think is a detached air cell and no veining No eggtopsy yet.:

Thank YOU! That was very kind of you to find that for me....WISH mine were an EMU!! or maybe not as it appears to be seaping. Seeping? oh I'm getting tired.

Anyone on the cloudy ring in several of my eggs?

Where your eggs shipped? It could be they where badly shook up and damaged the yolk. It saw on the incubating guild here while looking for an answer for you that a cloudy mass could be the growing embryo- so unless they stink, just leave them be. Check in 4-5 days if there is any change to the mass, or if the insides got darker.
