4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

I'm not sure what happened between the day before yesterday and today...but things aren't looking promising in my bator this evening. Temps are fine (no, I don't need a new thermometer

), humidity is fine. For whatever reason (unnamed amount) are not going to be hatched chicklets. Sad night...but I'm hopeful about the (unnamed amount) that are still viable.

I don't know why but for some reason my incubor dropped from 98 to 91 degrees. I wasn't sure if I adjusted it up if it would slowly go up, or go back to what it was plus the adjustment. I just checked it and it seems to be holding steady to what I adjusted it too. I added 2 degrees because it was at 97 so hopefully it all goes well.

News on the chicks:
I almost broke my incubator today while vacuuming. I thought i could carefully get around it, but then the ever so clumsy me decided to bumb it causing the automatic turner to lose the bator and it fell to the ground. I kept trying to put it back up but the turner is not workingright. It keeps falling apart. So after awhile i finally got it back up, hopefully it still turns now. :/

I should get a medal or something, I managed to walk by the incubator this morning without tripping again

I need to post a picture of Drekkette. She's just about ready to move in with the rest of the Icelandic flock. She inherited that lovely blue.

I use the rubbermaid shelf liner. Easy to clean and makes a great grip for little toes.

Same here. I used to toss it until I realized it was washable. I wait until I have several icky, dirty pieces, then throw them in the washer with an old towel. I used to air dry it, but now throw it in the dry as well. I've been using the same pieces for over 6 mos. now.
