I'm so upset and mad at myself! The momma chicken killed the duckling! Why didn;t I just leave it in the incubator or bring it inside to dry out! I cannot believe she killed the poor little thing! I am so sad! Poor, poor little baby! Rest In Peace Little One.

These are from BYC members PHAGE and LUVINBLUECHICKENS - they are currently the 6 VERY STRONG developing eggs in my NYD hatch incubator. Talk about EYE CANDY!! These are Blue Laced Red Wyandottes!

I took a look into all the duck eggs (15 of them) and noticed another externaly pipped and about 3/4 of them internally pipped. Maybe I will have a few ducklings in the morning!

Probably not. Mine have been externally pipped since yesterday and still nothing. Your's will probably hatch on Saturday, they just take awhile between pip, zip and hatch.

Your probably right, but a girl can hope, can't she?

It seems the last time I hatched them the first few took forever and then they started coming fast. I would love to wake up to one though.

Yes, Gab, I have at least three pips so far. I've ignored them all day since this morning (I'm being a good girl!) but couldn't resist checking on them about an hour ago. I hope I wake up to baby seramas in the morning!!!

I have officially added another chicken breed to my most wanted list... Bantam blue laced red cornish. I love the looks of the BLR, but not as big of a fan of the wyandottes. I had three of the black laced white, sold two and still have the third. The third would've been sold as well, but that tart escaped and I couldn't catch her before the buyer gave up and went home with only two. I love the looks of them, it's just, eh. They're not my friendliest birds and I never saw them... Now with one left, I only ever see her in the morning and at bedtime. :/
