Happy Birtday!

Also... >.> No. The Maya people NEVER said the world would end.... The Maya Calendar just STOPS because it's a new cycle... it clicks over to 13.0.0.0.0... it's the 13th B'ak'tun. It's kind of like how the calendar stops at December 31st. We don't think the world will end... it's just tome for a NEW calendar. Tomorrow will be 13.0.0.0.1 and the next day will be 13.0.0.0.2 and so on... They count in a base 20 system, Days are on there as the last number, then a Tun is about a year (360 days) then the next place up is a K'atun, which is 20 Tun, or 7200 days. Next up is a B'ak'tun, which is 20 K'atun, which is 144,000 days.

Okay a few days ago I said my turkey girl had gone MIA. I was taking my Pyr puppy out to potty early this morning and the turkey girl was perched on the compost bin. Went back out to feed when daylight came and she was gone again and not answering, so I went around clucking still no answer. Then I went around the back side of the garage and there she was on a nest, who's turkey goes broody in the middle of winter, she had 10 eggs under her, I didn't even know she was laying. I took the eggs because of course she wasn't sitting on them all night. She wasn't very happy, so I scooted her along into the run since the storm was getting worse, Will that break her, this is not the time of the year for baby turkeys.

I'm getting amped up for our new house. Grabbed some raspberry starts to get planted there in the spring and planning on looking for two apple trees and thinking about any other tree I might want. I'm so happy! I've never had a house and land of my own, only rented, besides my parents' places, so I never got to do cool stuff like raspberries and trees. Have to start thinking about a new building for the birds though. It'll probably have to be built, which is going to stink. We're still trying to figure out how we're going to move them when there's no establishment there for them. :/ We don't have the means to build here and transport it there though, or I'd get started. I have been looking for free pallets and such though.

There's a chart at this link on air cell development during the incubation periodl

I know how air cells develop, my questions was what should I do if I have some eggs with large air sacs and some with small air sacs. Is there a way that I could compromise? I don't want to, but I can always try firing up the other incubator so that they each have there own correct humidity. It just seems like a waste to have both incubators going for 8 eggs.

The wind is AWFUL here. We've got fields everywhere and not much of a windbreak. During Sandy, I had to keep birds locked up... One escaped and got blown down the driveway. When the gust died, she scrambled back for the room. ;)
