So my chick that has externally pipped didn't go through the air sac... is that a problem?
I use shavings but put two layers of paper towels on top, and when that gets really messy, in about a week or two (depending how big/many birds are in there, I take it out. By then they've usually dug up a few bits of shavings, and have gotten their footing so they transition to the shavings really well.Yay!![]()
Quick question for ya'll ... can I use shavings for my brooder footing or pelleted bedding?
Oh, you'd be a hero! LOL, that's nice!I like brinsea as well , I think If I could get anything for my sons school this year it would be this

I think I love Brinsea! They have such cool incubators and that warmer is awesome, and they gave us such nice prizes!!! That was really great of them.
And no, I don't work for them, LOL, I just think it was really nice and want them to know that it probably will create a customer.... when I have money to spend, ROFL
Are those the eggs you just hatched?
I don't see myself ever hatching that many eggs again, I just started up with chickens, and hatching eggs was a great way to get some variety, as well as cheap chickens (trader joe's leghorns, LOL) But now, I'd like to hatch out a few of my own chicks once in a while, and 7 eggs sounds plenty to me. So that little Brinsea mini advanced would be perfect!x3 Im gonna save up for one too.Im done with homemade bator at least for now.
