OK, no it's time for me to head back outside and freeze to death so I can finish feeding everyone, wire my chicken's Seed Bell up on the fence (the chickens got a seed bell for Christmas ; ) and press my nose up to the incubator again! Be back later y'all!

Guess I need to find out about worst hatch rate contest too. Out of 28 eggs only 3 ended up in lockdown and still not a single bit of activity!
I think I'm going to go cry :(

Ah im sorry. :( I know how you feel. at least i did have 1 to hatch even if i had to help. (Out of 30 i only had 1 to hatch.)Thou im not sure she will make it she keeps rolling to her back then cant get turned back over. Does anyone know if this is normal? I havent noticed it happening on my other few hatches.

i think 15 is all we are gonna get
nobody is pipping or moving or anything, and when i went to put more water in nobody peeped at me.
this kills me, because last night when i went to remove chicks/egg shells one of the eggs peeped at me. that means its probably dead

Maybe it's just tired at that moment. They're not always peeping, and when they do, it always seems one is instigating it??
PIctures Of trays full of fuzzies please please please

So what is this?!?
I candled my last couple eggs that hasn't popped and five just quit on me, one had a freak air sac or blank space like that ( wasn't there on day 18) n I have one last internal pipper I'm cheering for!
It looks like it shrink wrapped........ How does the one look? Is your humidity high enough?
So my chick that has externally pipped didn't go through the air sac... is that a problem?
I guess not, I learned another lesson this hatch. Mine pipped at the pointy end of the egg, and I think it would have done just fine had I left it alone. It did live but I pulled away some shell, exposing it to more drying, and in the end had to take her out of the egg (almost too soon, still had a bit of blood on belly, but cleaned up fast and was ok) I will not interfere again, except maybe, if it looks too closed of a pip, open it just the tiniest bit so I'm sure the chick can breath. no more! And that's only 'cause I like to interfere, LOL
Nothing yet here either. I had one egg that made it to lock down. I did lower the temp a bit for lock down. (97) Maybe it is just taking it's time.

Yah, the lower temp might slow it down a bit too, not that that's bad! That should be plenty warm this late in the game ;)

Almost there!!!

There was a thread I read where someone's chicks were doing that, and they were dying possibly because they were under the heat lamp and couldn't get away to cool themselves?? My new serama chick did that once in the incubator, but I righted her, and she didn't do it again?? My guess is to keep an eye on it, perhaps it just doesn't have good control of her feet yet?
