My 4 mo. old crowed for the first time this morning. I literally woke up with a smile on my face. IT was the worst crow ever and so cute. My husband hates crowing so all boys have to be gone when he comes back from his deployment.I was out in the barn doing chores this morning and heard a weird noise. It almost sounded like a child's cry. I went to check Prim and her babies, to find one of my 6 week old chicks was trying to crow! Too cute!!

I started my first batch of fermented feed last night!! I made the double buckets by drilling holes in one and seating them inside each other... One question... How much water do I put in?? Should it be covering the feed? All of the feed is wet, but there is no standing water in the top bucket. Do I need to add more?
I taught my NYD chicks how to drink from a bottle with a chicken nipple hanging from the top of the brooder! Yay!! No more icky water!!! Now I just have to make another one. One waterer for 20 chicks isn't enough...
I k
That is just so cool.
