With the green legs it almost looks to have Ameraucana or Easter Egger heritage.I lost my special little chick... he lasted about 2 1/2 day, but that's ok... he was only about half the size of the others by then....
So here's some pics of my four that I took today.![]()
And yes... her feet and beak are a weird green color...![]()
She's part silkie (extra toes!) and I THINK that's why she's green.... lol.
the silver boy has grey legs.....
the other two have 'peach' tone skin....even the one with the silkie bump. it's interesting to me.![]()
I have had Cochin babies try to crow that young. Ornery little things.I was out in the barn doing chores this morning and heard a weird noise. It almost sounded like a child's cry. I went to check Prim and her babies, to find one of my 6 week old chicks was trying to crow! Too cute!!
Maybe she had others she spirited away? More likely she figured she was done. Very cute! Kind of a nice surprise!
Yep, it's pretty easy to get an idea of who the boys are pretty early on with the Iowa Blues. I'm watching for the feathers to sprout on the shoulders. Should be any minute now.Had an Iowa Blue crowing at day one. Watched him do it 3-4 times. When I first heard the noise I thought someone was choking. LOL

found the nest!! it had two egg shells opened and no momma on it. I put the other eggs in the incubator so they might hatch (they were stone cold so probably not), she put her nest under an upturned wheelbarrow insulated on one side with fertilizer bags and straw bales all around it, god mamma
OH how sweet too!!! awwww how are they doing?
They were hatched on a nest of little black bugs!! i held them for not even five minutes yesterday and i had bugs crawling all over me. Ick, i have to bath them if they are staying with me in this house, lol
