That's 1 of my Brown Red OEGB in with it & a 1 week old Coturnix Quail peeking in from the side.

Has anyone tried sprouting Producer's Pride whole oats? With no grass, I want to try sprouting in buckets for the flock. If I can feed 1lb of oats per day, that might save some moolah as well. I need to get more buckets. 10 isn't enough, between two feed buckets and the rest for collecting/storing spent grain, and now wanting to sprout!
Not sure myself but someone on the fodder thread said oats get moldy ? or mushy? something that doesnt work well as fodder Accordiing to the thread Barley is the best (but impossible to find unitl August where i live) then wheat is #2.

Quote: I would not sprout in buckets..(they do mold and get mushy)Oats and wheat will sprout better in material that is porus like burlap. You sew 3 sides, place the seeds on the bottom of the bag, soak for 24 hours in warm water, and than rince them daily in the tub or sink. Store the bag flat on something that will drain off the water like a plastic lid. You will know they are ready when the roots start to poke threw the bag. Just invert the bag and hang for the birds to pick the seeds off.

Already said, but Old English Game Bantams ;)

Is that one OK? Looks like maybe he has spraddle legs? does he have a hard time getting around?

Ok, now I have to find some burlap.......... er.....where do I find it? LOL. This is cool, now that I have Fermented Feed down, I want to do sprouting!
So I haven't gotten my notification that I won the Greenfire Farm eggs....I wonder if there is a malfunction with my PMs.
