4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

Geepers, Sally! I just went to your site there in your signature, and OMG, where do you get the energy to write so many articles???!!! Lordy! I'm impressed and exhausted all at the same time, time to go lay down again and forget people have such energy,

Awwww Those articles didnt start as articles....
they started as the diary & notes thread alot of us hang in..... LMAO and it sure grew very large fast! Everytime we found some more info or added pics or issues I tried to keep adding them there. I am sure I missed some, but finally I took an entire weekend in Dec. to straighted the chaos and make them more user friendly since so many started to refer to them....

I cant edit that first page in the thread, which stinks as I am afraid some will refer to it and not even notice the link for the undated inforomation, as alot of things have changed and more reasoning and info has been added... I had asked mods to link that first page to the article so I hope people realize they need to click article titile to find it... anyway, thank you, I sure hope it helps people find stuff easier now.

I have all of my info and links in a word file on my computer, sometime I will add my chick info and basic chicken health info articles too. But not now, lol I had enough for now! lol

Thanks for the caring thoughts. Work is kicking my butt, but need the money bad. I was seriously going through BYC withdrawal. It did give the time to work with my Pyrenees baby she is so smart and getting big, weighs close 90 lbs at 9 months. They are the most beautiful dogs. I don't think I would own any other after having her. I hope you had a great hatch. Mine So-so only hatched 17. But that's alright, I managed to get sex-links from my Barred Rock under Lavendr Am. Spots on their heads were clear as can be. Hatched all my six d'Uccles also. Olive eggers a couple wheaton Ams and Marans.

Cluck cluck...there are 5 road island reds from Jim and the rest are from my dual purpose birds. They are twice the size of the RIR's now. The mom is a RIR/cornish and the dad is a silver pencil rock cross. He is a huge bird and not done growing. I need to get some recent pictures of him.

I have catdance silkies and a few eggs from Jim in the bator now. This last experiment was kind of a bust. I had way too many infertile eggs to make it a fair experiment. But I have found shipping eggs in the winter needs a heat pack and fertile eggs. I had 4 dozen eggs shipped all together and out of them I have a dozen fertle eggs. To much money invested to make it worth the fun. My DH would kill me if he know how much I spent. I hope and pray I get some nice chicks out of this experiment.

Thanks Sally..

I need all the good vibes I can get. Made me sick to toss out all of them eggs. I am going to do it for Easter though. I might just do my own Orpingtons and hopefully some Cochins and Marans from Jim. Maybe Mstricher will send me the eggs I won than too.

I will probably do my own too.... so sick of shipped eggs... why do people ship eggs laying on their sides? I only ever got one set, wrapped and set the correct position and had all good air cells..... I am not sure why they lay them in the box?????
