The incubator was made by someone else, parts weren't that great and have rewired it and am replacing the fan, but now that I've got all the weak links replaced it works like a charm. Love the color, gives it character. I need to add a scarf, I think.

Now I have gone through the first 8 pages again, and I can not seem to find the answer...do we have to list the types and numbers of each type of bird on a spreadsheet somewhere? Or was I delusional when I thought I saw that rule?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I read somewhere that a spreadsheet will be posted on Friday.

was wondering if anyone was doing the NYD hatch-along with a broody hen?

I think there are several broodies going out there.

Make one out of a cooler or something just to practice.

HOW IS EVERYONE ELSE DOING?! ... HAVE ANY CRAZY STORIES SO FAR FROM THIS YEARS NYD HATCH ALONG?.....some crazy stuff happens before you even get a chance to set the little eggs!!

I built my incubator with a separate hatcher at the bottom. Both units were working well for 2 days so I set 18 eggs noon Nov. 25. Went to check it the next morning and the heat element failed and was at 80. I moved the tray into the hatcher while I waited for a replacement. All was well so I set 14 more eggs on Dec. 1. Two of mine and a dozen Whole Foods fertile eggs. The next morning I checked and the primary cable to the unit came unplugged so it dropped to about 70. urggh!!! I got everything worked out and then the day before the NYD set the hatcher heat quit working and my first eggs are supposed to go in there Friday so I have 2 days to fix it.
