4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

Enjoying some crazy cake after a dog bath adventure! Yum!! Drizzled....ok ok I COVERED the crazy cake with home made caramel and chocolate sauce.......I should bathe the dogs more often.

Look! It didn't snow today!! Sunshine. But..the snow didn't melt because it was so cold. Even with the sun out, we still have snow on our trees..it was so beautiful on my way to PT this morning. I took my camera with me after taking pics from my back porch and front porch. Just beautiful!

My coop and run is under there somewhere! Sun! Didn't melt
much though

From my back porch, look close, there is a mountain in
the back ground behind the trees, with clouds on top of it. :)

From front porch, can see the mountain there. Blue sky, after
two days of snow!

On our way to my PT. West mountain, not a real big mountain.
But oh so pretty on our way.

There's a big mountain. The biggest in our valley..Mnt. Timpanogus.
Winter Wonderland. :)
I know a little behind. You really got it good We only got a 1inch up here in northern part of state.

I have several eggs that are all wiggly! I will have at least a few this hatch I am praying for at least three RIR

The Americuana egg is very active!
I have 8 of my own all progressing nicely!
Every thing is going pretty good!
Three look clear still but I am hoping they are late bloomers!

Have I ever mentioned that I hate snow? Well, I HATE snow. I hate it even more when the sky lights up from lightning while its snowing and I'm doing chores.
Lightning + Snow = kinda scary!

It only snowed a little bit here today. We have a cumulation of about 5 inches on the untouched spots. It's inconvenient to haul water in gallon jugs, I think that's my least fave part of winter! I do enjoy going out after a fresh snow to see who/what's been on the place and where.

I have a few who wiggled for me today, too :) I get excited when they react to the light! Gotta be careful to not drop them, though. I haven't done it yet, but I've gotten close!

I put in 3 testers of my own on the 4th for Christmas day babies, they're all going great :) It's my shipped eggs that are proving... problematic. I just hope I get SOME to join the flock. I like new lines.

One of mine wiggled for me today too! ^.^ One of the white eggs... I bet more light gets in there... I found it calmed down and stopped moving after a couple seconds, and when I made a chirp kind of noise, it moved more. :D

When they start wiggling, that's when it gets real for me. Yeah, I think the light from candling probably startles the poor chicks, it's usually not lit up in there haha :)

I know, we got it more than anyone up north. We are in Spanish Fork, up on a bench right by a canyon. We got more than Orem and Provo and Salt Lake!
I don't mind. :) It's going to get down to around 9 degrees tonight, thankful for a nice warm home. My chickens have their heat lamps.

Tomorrow will get up to low 40's! Melting snow for sure!
