Lots of activity on the hatch cam I guess the buttons wanted to hatch in the wee hours of the night.

my son just handed me our little female button and she looks like she has some sort of prolapse I have no idea how you fix that in a tiny little button .
Congrats on your hatchers! I don't see anything other than eggs on your cam though. You must've taken them out? Are you sure it's a prolapse or just a bit of yolk that hasn't absorbed?
Buttons are cute , they have these fat squar little faces and almost no neck lol , The poor little cortunix that just hatched wantst to rest but all those buttons keep climbing all over , it reminds me of that pome I read as a kid.
Theres to many kids in this tub ,
theres to many elbows to scrub
I just washed a behind
Im sure wasnt mine
thers to many kids in this tub.
LOL I love this!
Waaay too early to start worrying. Day 21 isn't here yet for you right? This is the hardest part..waiting. But when you see that first pip, which may not be until Tues..if that's your due hatch date, it is sooo fun to watch and wait.
Yes, today is day 19 for us. It's my first hatch so I guess I'm a little anxious - don't really know what to expect yet, or when things are supposed to happen so I was worried mine weren't doing what they are supposed to. I've asked a couple times when they should generally be expected to internally pip, but haven't yet received an answer and with everyone else going on about theirs pipping (and even hatching 2 days early) I was freaking out a bit. I'm going to occupy myself with building my brooder so I stop fretting over it! LOL
Do NOT worry if your eggs are not moving or peeping, its early days. Some chicks are eager, some are lazy. We have lots of time, it just feels dramatic.
Do NOT open the incubator unless you have to once those eggs are pipped! You can adjust your humidity until then, I used to think that's what the first day was for anyway :).
Patience, young padawans, patience! We shall feel the egg force yet!
Ha - telling me not to worry is like saying the sky isn't blue! I've resisted the urge to open the bator so far. I have a feeling I'll need to add moisture at some point in order to keep my 63% humidity up. Patience - my worst trait!
This is so fun. I just watched one go up to that green up front, and peck and peck at it like it was saying, hey, time to come out and play! It's great out here! :D
Aww, I missed them

Dont worry. They cold have moved while you werent looking. I think they secretly know when to wiggle so they arent noticed. Some breeds also take a little longer, and bator temps also play a large roll in the time it takes. I dont think high humidity would kill them so quickly. More like if the humidity was too high for like a week and a half or so and the fluid hasnt had time to leave the egg or something. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and sending good thoughts your way!!

Hope so! I'll be happy when my first hatch is under my belt and I can go into the next one armed with some experience. Too much moisture they drown, too much dryness they stick, too much heat, too little heat, not enough turning, detached air cells, germs from hands, candle to see veins, no double yolks ... OMG My head is about to explode! LOL

cluck, these were from a couple of years ago. I really thought that I would keep them, indoors. Not all of them, I was only going to keep a couple of them. But, they are so skittish, not a friendly bird..of course, they are quail. I like canary's. Here's a couple of pictures of the cage I made up for them. After selling the quail, I put my canary in it. :) Nice and big for him.

It is a nice cage..found it on the net somewhere, can't remember where now!
Very nice cage indeed! Want.
YEAH are you one of those lurkers I've been asking to join. I knew I could get one of the guest to sign up. and

That baby that is hatching is coming from that green egg that one of the chicks went up to and pecked on..guess the invite to come out worked! Cute, sure looks tired!

those little green eggs are about the size of marbles they are button eggs , the speckled ones are cortunix quail and the big eggs are actually tiny little serama chicken eggs.
The prolapse thing Im talking about is on our adult female .
