Amazing story, so sad to lose a house though.http://www.abc27.com/story/20440768/wis-couple-says-pet-chicken-alerted-them-to-blaze
Maybe now I can just keep the chickens in the house?
Oh my, that adds to the stress! It sure is! Even more so where this is our first hatch.![]()
I think this only works on specially breed for the this methodSEXING CHICKS ~ With in TWO DAYS you must do this or wait till they crow or lay!! refer to : http://www.ca.uky.edu/smallflocks/sex_linked_crosses.html & http://www.ca.uky.edu/smallflocks/Feather_sexing_practice.html
That's what mine did too. I've now taken to finding videos on youtube of chicks peeping to try to encourage them to progress a bit, or at least to cheep for me so I can be assured they are still alive! I'm so paranoid right now. I was going to run to the store to get supplies for my brooder, but now I don't want to in case I miss my very first hatch. I'm glued. One of my eggs showed pipping and heard some peeping but sence this morning nother else happened. Just this one little hole.
I know how Jessiey feels! First hatch is exciting and stressful cause you don't really know what to expect.Oh my, that adds to the stress!
