Quote: Nice I was googling it too, to see how easy it would have been for someone to get. We have plants everywhere.
Thank you, my red light is only 100 watts and these seramas love heat. I think the red is a little more soothing than a regular bulb, I'll reduce it as time goes onI'm so happy for you! You were so worried about that one that pipped at the wrong end. But you have two cuties now. Are your chicks inside, or are they out in the garage? If inside, just a note..they don't need the red heat lamp. I use a 100 for the first day, then a 75 for a couple of days, then down to a 60 and so forth. That's, if they are inside. I love the one with the dark coloring on it!
Oh wow, I know those hurt like Hadies! I'm so sorryHello all!
Yes, I am finally back. I have been in the hospital, a first time kidney stone attack. How God AWFUL! Then the drugs made me sick.
And to make it all just peachy...then "it" just wants to stay in an party!
I had my college kids come home, they helped me pull off Christmas. Now they have returned home.
We had our first chick hatch about 5:00 PM, December 31! Early, wow, with the way the eggs looked when I candled this surprises me.
It was one of the eggs we collected here at home, laid on my daughter's birthday. It is so cute!
We have about 5 pipping, but I do not have much hope for any of my Welsummers. I candled them, and they all looked empty.
We have opened three eggs, two looked like regular eggs, at day 18! One had some gelatinous stuff. My kids were so bummed!
I was so surprised they didn't even stink!
The chicks are so darn cute! And your daughter looks like a German Porcelain doll! So sweet!
I love mine, it works really well, and for my Seramas, I think they could live in there infinitely, as it's quite a good size!
Quote:That doesn't make sense. You are supposed to pm them at the end of the hatch, which hasn't happened yet, but we needed to be done voting already?I think there was a mixup on the dates there.![]()

DARN and I had changed my mind on hatching more eggs since I won some!!![]()
OMG that is gonna be so FREAKING big and AWESOME!!!My pip!
And my future Treasure Chestbator
I bribed the kitties to get a scale for the size of the chest. I will put the window and incu kit on the top and then install an automatic turner on the bottom.
I might paint it...and I will line it with some firm insulation, I like the foil backed stuff if I get a choice. I might also order some of the flex watt heat tape and make my own eco glow type heater for the chicks.

Ah, Guineas can be a lot of fun, but boy are they noisy!I would get some more guineas but need to get rid of two of my males first
I had thought about trying a guinea or two. Are they friendly? Do they make for good eating?
It's probably resting. Hard work to wiggle around in that little tiny egg shell! Keep the faith fuzzy, keep the faith!
I bought my ducks a boat! I haven't installed it yet though ... spring time! Yes, they are going to swim IN their boat! It's a 16 foot aluminum that I am recycling.
Thanks Ron. I missed BYC while I was gone...and you of course!Welcome back Aspen!
Have a great hatch!

Congratulations on the pip! Wow, that chest looks like an antique, solid wood, are you sure you want to mess with it? (sorry, just looks so nice!)
