I'm in the same boat, no pips, no chicks yet. I set 3 on the official day and time and added 5 others 2 days later. Checked them quickly today and still see movement in them but no action yet.

Gab, I mix chicks a lot. My new coturnix are in with the serama and some 2-3 week old ducklings. They get stepped on of course but nothing major and no problems. Used to mix my button chicks with chicken chicks all the time.

Ugh. I'm 650 posts behind.

Do you have vents on your hatcher that you can close up? Something I've done in desperate situations is to get some warm water in a spray bottle. Open the hatcher just enough (1/2 inch) for you to put the spray nozzle in there and mist everything inside. If you have a jet setting on your sprayer, spray your washcloth some too.

I've got 2 vent holes I can plug w/ small corks (I've been concerned about oxygen so I have them both open),

the weirdest part is we have had torrential rain, like literally over 6 inches in the past 24 hrs at my house,

and the acu-rite indoor/outdoor thermometer/hydrometer (outdoor remote IN bator) is telling me my house is 51% while the bator is 44% , so except for needing the heat, I'd be better off humidity wise to just leave the lid off entirely. I really did NOT expect this situation (cooler bator currently has 2 containers w/ water, 1 w/ a sponge inserted partway out the top like a wick, & I'd think the hydrometer was just plain wrong, but then I saw how totally DRY last night's wet washcloth is, it was dripping w/ hot water when I tossed it in about 20 hrs ago).

It's so dry here with the subzero temps outside, that I keep a rubbermaid container full of water with a sponge in it and it dries out in 1-2 days. I have only one vent hole open and want to keep good air exchange happening, so I just keep adding water. It maintains at 60 to 65% and the air feels moist and warm if I open it.

So far the chicks look great coming out, membranes stay nice, and they fluff up while in the hatcher.
