4th Annual BYC NYD Hatch-a-long

My set up. Live in florida LOL. I still have to run a light but it makes it way easier to keep them warm.
Could you package some of that Floriday warmth and send it this way - I just collected frozen eggs from my hens today (my son did not collect yesterday)

I want to join! This will be my first. I have thought about it before but never did get eggs in the right time. I'm not sure about the breed or how many, I will work that out in time.
Yay! Another participant! Welcome!!! This is my first year as well!

All my chickens and ducks have just about stopped laying.I may not beable to set many eggs. I may have to call a local man about heritage rhode island red and dominqer(msp) eggs.

Woke to up this morning to our FL weather being not so warm!

The Sebastopol geese are still laying though, so the first two eggs werent a fluke and we have 1 girl laying every other day with a couple more who started playing house with their nest yesterday.

Looking to see how many racks in the 3 cabinets we can fill up completely for the NYD hatch.

Sounds like so many of you are setting tons of eggs. what on earth do you do with all the chicks after hatch? The feed bills much be enormous.
Yes my feed bill is astronomical. I sell some chicks on Craigslist which helps with the feed. Our roosters (most of them become dinner) this saves on organic free range chicken from the store. I am also working to replace some of my current layers.

GOOD Morning! From chilly PA, looking forward to a day of thawing waterers.

15 Days till set day, does everyone have their eggs lined up?
Nope, I keep getting out bid, still looking for duck eggs, all I got so far are a few pekin, .....I know I am running out of time !!!
