4th Hatch. Brinsea Incubators: Octagon 20 Advanced EX model & Eco model - PHOTOS and I keep it UPDAT

Ok round 4 is underway!! I started the incubators up at 1:30pm! I decided to order an egg turner for the eco model. I just figured it makes life so much easier. This time we have:

24 Barnevelders
12 show quality French Black Copper Marans
6 olive eggers from the show quality marans
6 cream legbars
6 cream legbar crosses that will be olive eggers.

That is a total of 54 eggs set today, wish me luck!

All these eggs came from 3 different breeders here on BYC, they are as follows:

tls_ranch = Barnevelder
Wynette = French Black copper marans and maran olive egger crosses
juststruttin = cream legbars and legbar olive egger crosses.

Time for an update!! Day 14 here is the status:

15/24 Barnevelders from tls_ranch
11/12 show quality French Black Copper Marans from Wynette
6/6 olive eggers from the show quality marans from Wynette
4/6 cream leg bars from juststruttin
0/6 cream legbar crosses that will be olive eggers. from juststruttin

Sadly juststruttin eggs did not do well for me at all while Wynette is a rockstar with 17 of 18 eggs she sent me still going strong!! Which is interesting since her eggs are quite dirty! I guess it goes to show fertile is fertile and dirt/mud/poop doesn't really matter!

So out of 54 I started with, we still have 36 going! Lets see what happens in a week!

OK Hatch happened 4 and 5 days ago! Here is the breakdown of what hatched!

12/24 Barnevelders from tls_ranch
5/12 show quality French Black Copper Marans from Wynette
6/6 olive eggers from the show quality marans from Wynette
2/6 cream leg bars from juststruttin
0/6 cream legbar crosses that will be olive eggers. from juststruttin

I lost 12 from day 14 to 21. I still have 25 chicks out of 54 eggs!! 46% hatch rate is by far my least but Wynette's OE did have 100% hatch rate, that was exciting!
