4th of July and panicked birds? Dangerous?

My sympathies for your loss. Losing a dog is so hard.
My English Setter is 12 years old. We may be approaching his last season of fireworks also.

:hugsIs that him in your avatar? That's a handsome fella! :love And thank you! It was hard but he gave us so much that holding him in those last moments felt more peaceful than sad, you know? I just wish he'd pull some favors in doggy heaven and send us another just like him! He would have been great with chickens :gig

Yes, that is Pete. When he was young I called him my "Circus Dog" because he would stand on his hind legs, walk across the room and dance for treats, lol. He would have been adorable with a pink tutu and that beautiful coat of his. Now some days he has trouble getting up from his bed because his hips are getting bad.
This dog loves to point - he points the robins, he points the toads, he points the weed on the other side of the fence that he can't quite see clearly - but hey, they are moving!

Nemo (our boy) was like that with low, rumbling warning growls. When his sight and hearing started going he'd alert on smells; cat going by an open window that didn't live here!? ALERT! Possum passing by an open bedroom window at 3am?! ALERT! :gig

Pete sounds like a good boy and my kind of dedicated guy! :yesss:
