4th of July hatch along!

Is it the fourth yet?


I want to see pips in my eggs already.

I am not a fan of this lockdown period.

1 Serama hatched this morning. 2 have pipped, but nada action since. After 6 hrs, the chick started breathing heavy, so I took it out to check it over. All seems fine, it ate a ton. It does have scratches on its beak, assumably from hatching. Hoping the other eggs actually hatch!

Go away for the weekend and I have tons posts to go through lol. I thought I had time since my eggs aren't due to hatch until Saturday. But hey. All 4 of the duck eggs in my incubator have internally pipped and I see one external under my broody. She won't let me look too close. Grumpy girl. For those who let their ducks raise ducklings, how do you set up water in their house? I usually don't leave water in their over night for the adults. I did however just bring my girl out some water because she isn't coming out and it's been crazy hot.

This morning’s stats.. 1 of the EE cross fridge eggs , 3 Seramas, 1 dis Serama, 1 Serama going the way of dis, and I think the other EE is kaput as well. and , all at the same time. Pics of the hatch babies later!

I have 7 more Serama set to hatch sometime between 7/6-7/8, and 5 “rare” breeds on 7/13. Will join the June-July hatch-a-long for that craziness.

So far I have one Blue Laced Red Wyandotte with one more trying, one lavender Orpington and my one Black Copper Maran is trying hard right now. I do have a couple other pips but not much from them in a while. Hopefully the rest pull through, they all looked great when candling before lockdown.

So went on lockdown yesterday and within an hour had a pip! That’s the first Picture...the second two are from this morning...Turk is a Daddy!! It’s all dry now, and all black except a white bum!!
The white egg pipped this morning the brown pipped about an hour ago...
