4wk duckling bald patch- pecking

Blu-Kote is a wound spray, and it does color everything purple - like the old Gentian Violet stuff does. Blu-Kote is usually reasonably priced and readily available at most feed stores, like Tractor Supply. Some WalMarts carry it, too. Pet stores will carry it sometimes, but you'll pay through the nose for it, there!
You could also use a (clear) general veterinary ointment approved for birds - like Vetricyn (spelling?).

Didn't mean to upset you but a clear antiseptic spray works just as well..
You didn't at all! I'm sorry it came off that way - one of the wonderful side effects of text conversation, I guess. I didn't know that about ducks, though. The only ones I ever had (mallards) were raised by a Nankin hen ... who taught them all sorts of bad chicken habits. They would peck at each other and scratch the dirt, like peeps. And you should have seen them trying to follow Mama in a line when she wanted to herd them under her wings. It was like watching kids play Crack-the-Whip! Thirty years later, it still makes me laugh!

Just for reference my ducklings hatched on the 16th and were off heat at 10 days and did fine they graze outside in 60-85 degree temps with no issue at 3 weeks. They stay in the pool brooder in the garage at night and do "huddle" when they rest but for comfort not warmth.
