This is Freckles! I’m not sure if Freckles is a he or a she. I’ve been saying “she” but I noticed today that she is missing her comb and her wattles are starting to grow in but all the other chicks have their combs and I haven’t noticed any wattles. I guess I have two questions.

1) Is it normal to not see a comb?
2) Could Freckles be a rooster?

Freckles is in the front and behind him/her is Oreo. You can see the difference in the combs. There hasn’t been blood or scabs and none of the chicks have been fighting. They are all 4wks on Thursday.

Freckles looks like a Golden Laced Wyandotte. Wyandottes have rose combs, which appear "flatter" than single combs.
Judging by the redness of the comb and wattles, I would guess Freckles is a boy, but it is a bit early to tell.

Thank you! My husband got all our chicks while I stayed home and got everything set up. I never understood why he/she could be blue laced but golden laced definitely makes more sense. Haha
