5 1/2 week old Welsummer - pullet?

What do ya'all think? 5 1/2 week old Welsummer.

Hmm, a lot of threads saying you can tell by 5 weeks or so because of chest feathers being black on cockerels? Got worried because her comb looks pinkish.

Last year we got welsummer pullets. The comb in yours is larger and more pink for the age than I recall on ours. The comb size and color make me think possible male. As for black feathers on a male Welsummer, I am not sure about that as all we had were females.

I would agree for several breeds, but welsummers are quite special as they are auto sexing. Pullets get a salmon colored chest. Males get a black chest. Yours is a pullet for sure!

Awesome. Thanks all. I was getting worried because she feathered slower than the others and has huge feet. At Welsummers just a heavier breed? The only one bigger than her is the Swedish flower hen.
