Diffently tired of this! I'm looking forward to the warmup this weekend.

How long until spring? Whatever it is it's not soon enough!

Winter should only be one month long, spring and fall can each have an extra month and we'll all be HAPPY!

Very cold this morning - but on the FANTASTIC side, the wind has died down. Its lovely and I'm SO happy - our high today is 35

It's 5 here, with a -11 windchill. I just fed the chickens awhile ago, and put some vaseline on my rooster's comb. He HATED it! I noticed a few tiny dark tips on his comb last night, and I think it could be frost bite! Hopefully it won't advance. I too am ready for warmer weather. Even the 30s or 40s would be nice.

I need to add my location back - I'm in central Nebraska, its just lovely today - bitterly cold but no wind!!

I'm in Marion, Indiana. About an hour north of Indianapolis.

We have been waking up to -10 to -18 for the last 3 mornings, and yesterday morning 5 am was when the propane for cabin ran out. Thankfully we keep a buddy pack in the cabin and had a spare tank to switch to. I will be happy for it just to no longer be in the negative numbers, but am craving spring and warmer weather.

On the bright side, the full morning was beautiful to see both as it rose and set.

I think most of us up in the North country need to remember that we aren't used to the cold because we have been spoiled the last few winters with a couple of weeks of cold then back into the 40's. Very unusual for us, as I remember growing up when winter hit it stayed cold and there were very few warm days. Now with global warming and all winter is nothing anymore. We just have to live with a few days of bitter cold weather and then we are back into the 40's or so. What would we be like if it was like it was back when we were growing up? Let's be thankful the cold snaps don't last as long as they used to!

WoooHoooo - we made it up to 38 today - but the wind did pick up a little bit

Girls are happy - scratching and diggin up stuff.... having a good ol time! Perhaps I'll get an extra egg or two tomorrow.........

I'm ready for the deep freeze to be over! We've lost two calves, a bunny and 8 chickens to this freeze!

Someone told me its supposed to storm today so it should warm up, and I sure do hope so! I haven't lived here very long but I overheard someone at work say that this is some kind of a record for cold days and nights here.....

Lets just hope the groundhog doesn't see his shadow this year LOL
