5 month Cuckoo Marans - do I have a rooster?

Hi folks, new here, and I have a mixed breed flock including two Cuckoo Marans of the exact same age (5 months)

. I know at least one is a hen because we just started getting Maran eggs. But I'm afraid the one on the left is a rooster. This was the best comparison photo I could get. Can someone help me? Thank you!

The one on the left is a cockerel.

One with saddle feathers is cockerel (left) he is bigger and has bigger comb, waddle and has saddle feathers! congrats, he is really pretty.

Those are both pullets. A cockerel would be a much different pattern.

Agreed with @Gray Farms , those are both pullets. I don't see any saddle feathers at all, from this angle... I don't see the typical male cuckoo pattern which would make him look completely different from the pullet if he was male.... But that's a pullet. Absolutely no doubts about it.

Agreed. You can't see any male saddle feathers from this picture and the coloring and comb development is identical to the Pullet. There is no indication of this being a cockerel that I can see. Just looks like a Pullet who hasn't molted her baby tail

I'm thinking it looks more like a pullet. Can you post a few more pictures?

Agree again..both pullets. Cuckoo Marans males are a silvery color not the black like pullets. Some of my Cuckoo Marans helns have large combs and they all have spurs....as do their offspring I hatch even when croessing with other breeds.
