You can clearly see the word "Frizzles" clearly on the carton.

It's times like these I love the fact I can build websites. This will not die!!! (The fact that I got lied to and my money take and all the time I wasted on hatching Silkies.) I will build a website using the seller's dot (Net and Org) I'll spend more that the eggs cost me but it's the principle. Once the seller refuses to refund my money or does not answer my five emails I shall begin!!! (Evil laugh

).

I will not harm the chickens, a co-worker's mom has a farm and likes ugly Silkies.

AFAIK, only the English Dorking has five toes. They are descended from chickens the Romans brought with them. They appeared in Roman writings, in fact, and so have a long history behind them.

Id suggest that any bird with 5 toes that not a Dorking, is of, well, "mixed heritage," shall we say?.....

I would like to show everyone our newly hatched chick, we call it Vulture.

Absolutely LOVE the "work designations" you've given your birds. Truly "country mentality", if that's not offensive to you. I firmly believe all animals must earn their keep. When my cat heard me say that he began mousing,

We name ours chicks as we feel, or names so for;

1. Fredderick "the loud Pheasant"
2. Peck - off the cartoon Barnyard
3. Dawg (Dog) - My son says he sounds like a dog.
4. Yevpator - My wife named this one, she's Russian
5. Mafunganut aka "Nutty" my son named this one (Phasant)
6. Vulture - it's looks like one.

we have four that pipped so we are waiting to see our Cochin Frizzles.

Here are pictures of my 5 toed Frizzle "Cochins" that I hatched a few days ago. Cochins DO NOT have 5 toes and they don't have flat combs either, which some of these chicks do. I also hatched 2 that don't have feathered legs.

As defined by Yellow House Farm, Faverolles are a composite breed of heritage chicken versus Dorkings, which he defines as a foundational breed of heritage chicken. See www.yellowhousefarmnh.com/content/2144#heritagebreeding for the entire article, for those interested further in heritage chickens.

So, add Faverolle to the list. Is there a connection in the Faverolle background as there is with the Dorking?
