I have a Rhode Island Red chick who’s right knee appears to bend inward instead of backwards. I’ve read through threads of slipped tendons where they say “just slide it back” her tendon doesn’t seem to move. Does this look like a slipped tendon or something else?

Slipped tendions are pretty tricky to treat- look up ‘slipped tendions’ in the search, and you should find a bunch of stuff. The chick’s ‘knee’ is called a hock.

Does this look to be a slipped tendion? From what I can see it looks to be as lines up as the healthy leg just with a little swelling

Hi I’m updating this because she is walking and running normally now! In case anyone happens across this thread: I still don’t know what was wrong but there are pictures documented. I got her on fresh feed, and put her on vitamin water packs, made a splint from plastic straws, cotton rounds, and vet wrap, and a sling out of a cut up sock and a clip on lanyard. I kept her in the sling for 3 days with her toes just touching the ground but with the weight off, the splint with her leg straight for about 2.5 days but I took it off briefly nightly to examine. Her legs were a bit weak after she came out of the sling but a couple days later she was running around with the other chicks and her knee no longer bends to the side.
