I have a Cuckoo Maran that has been egg bound for 5 weeks. Her backside is tight and swollen... Felt like a softball was in there. Ive done everything: baths, quiet, greasing up her vent, etc. Then an egg broke inside her b/c upon inspection, she had lots of yolk on her feathers, vent, etc. However she still is tight, swollen, etc. There definitely is another egg..eggs?? now she can barely walk straight. Is very wobbly. Wont perch. Still eats, drinks, but seems sad

. Should I put her down?

Well com to BYC

I don't think it is an egg bound, it seem to me more as a case of ascites, google it and learn more. Basically it is an accumulation of fluid in the abdomen du to a Failure of one of the important internal organs especially the liver, this phenomenon is usually fatal, if that is the case you can try to drain the chicken but the prognosis is not good.
