Amy, I can't believe they got that Mahalik rooster. That guy was beautiful. It just seems really weird that such specific birds were targeted. It just sounds like someone who really knew what they were doing as far as judging chickens. I wouldn't think that people from a restaurant would know about show quality or even care about it. Again, I am really sorry. If there is any thing that I can do to help you, let me know. I will be watching Craigslist and examining every silkie at the upcoming swaps.

Does any of your Asian friends know these guys? You gave a very good description of them. If you found out where they live maybe you could get someone to drive over there and at least see if they have a garage, storage building or even a coop.

It doesn't sound like they were stolen to eat. They were stolen to sell and make a wad of doe. Find out when the next shows are happening around your area and go without your birds. See if the two men are there wandering around, let everyone at those shows know what is going on.

Can you get a camera for your coop? They're cheap on ebay. I've got one with a built in DVR that records. Even an old camcorder running on AC during the day and night will work.

Heartbreaking event. I hope you can catch these lowlifes.

They used to hang people for stealing livestock, especially horses. Makes you kinda nostalgic.

You're right to be suspicious of those two men from the show. Asking too many questions that ring the alarm bells, feigning ignorance and playing dumb, textbook. Police are a joke (movies and tv have it sooo wrong); spreading the word throughout your community works better. It may not get your beloved birds back, but it will put your neighbors on alert and maybe prevent someone else going through the heartache your going through.
