5 wk old EE crowing?

This is our 5 wk old EE, Honey, who was purchased at a feed store as a pullet. I have begun to suspect that she is a he based on coloring and her (his?) comb. This morning, Honey made a sound that could have been an early attempt at crowing. Is it too early for an EE to crow at 5 weeks? Since the feed store will take back any roos, I would love a second opinion before I give them a call. TIA.

Thank you, that's what I thought. Such a shame; he's our favorite and we can't keep roosters in our town.

Yes - it is very possible for a 5 week old to crow and the black and white pattern is quite commonly a male pattern

Unfortunately that is usually the case.....the ones that end up cockerels are generally the friendliest, "prettiest", etc of the bunch as babies.
