5 Year Old Silver Iowa Blue Rooster (IA)

My daughter received this rooster (named Blue) as a chick for free back when she was doing 4H. He is a great rooster, but a bit too high-energy for our 8 year old Smoky Iowa Blue hen. He is great around farm cats, dogs, people (and kids), non-aggressive, and will tolerate being held. Very protective of his flock, and constantly watching the sky for predators. He just sired 6 chicks with the Smoky hen 3 months ago, and has sired many healthy chicks. He was tested for Pullorum-Typhoid for showing and was clean, he has not been around untested birds since. He does well with free-ranging or in a run, and very much fits the description of an Iowa Blue.

He won champion in the standard individual class at the county fair with my daughter, and has had no visible faults nor disqualifications. He is very inquisitive and follows us around the yard, asking for treats. He has spurs but has never shown any hint of aggression to people or other birds (normal pecking order squabbles, but gets along with our other roos).
